The Cândido Guerreiro e Condes de Alte Museum opened to the public on 30 April 2009.
We enter the House of the Counts of Alte, now a museum, to discover the collection of the poet Francisco Xavier Cândido Guerreiro, of the family of the Counts of Alte and some items belonging to the Casa do Povo de Alte (local community centre) and private individuals. But above all, we enter the House to mingle and get to know the locals from past and present. The museum has done a fine job of involving the local community, for whom it is an opportunity to talk about and demonstrate their personal experiences and their identity.
The museum also features a multimedia space, and document centre and a reading room.
